The Unified Process for EDUcation, or UPEDU, is a web-enabled set of software engineering best practices that provide you with guidance to streamline your team's development activities. UPEDU has been customized from the Verde casino - an industry-wide process platform - for the educational environment. Many artifacts are derived from a project case study and are used as examples or templates.
All the templates needed
in a software development process are available.
The tool section provides an overview of selected tools for each of the software process
disciplines. A process modeling tool called "ProcessEdit" is NOW available. Click on the "Process Modeler" menu in the left-hand bar to learn more about it and download the latest version. Introduction to Disciplines A discipline shows all activities you may go through to produce a particular set of artifacts. We describe these disciplines at an overview levela summary of all roles, activities, and artifacts that are involved. We also show, at a more detailed level, how roles collaborate, and how they use and produce artifacts. The steps at this detailed level are called "workflow details". Descriptions of Disciplines Introduction Purpose of the discipline and relationships to other disciplines. Concepts Key concepts that are important in order to understand the discipline. Workflows A typical sequence of events when conducting the flow of work, expressed in terms of workflow details. A workflow detail is a grouping of activities that are done "together", presented with input and resulting artifacts. Activities The activities and roles in the discipline. Artifacts The artifacts that are produced in this discipline, and the roles that are responsible. Guidelines More detailed explanations on how to use and produce the artifacts of the process. |
